Aki Saito Bio

Music has always been a very important self-expression tool for me.
When I was around 2 years old, I started singing, and playing my mother's piano freely. At the age of 5, I started taking piano lessons.
Soon, music became the main focus of my life.
After graduating from the piano conservatory high school, I continued my
higher education in music at Nihon University College of Art where I obtained a Bachelor of Art in Music - Piano Performance. I stayed in Tokyo and played solo piano at piano bars, hotel lounges, also did lots of band gigs at nightclubs.
In 1990, I moved to the U.S. to attend the Musician’s Institute - College of Contemporary Music in Los Angeles, California. Right after my graduation, I landed the position of a keyboard player for the world famous singer Andy Williams. For 5 years, I’ve been on his world tours, TV / Radio shows, music videos etc.
I also have worked as a composer / arranger in projects including a TV animation, a Radio program, and a dance team competition.
I established Aki's Piano Studio in 2012. I've been teaching Classic, Pop, Jazz Piano, also piano arrangements and compositions.

In 2022, I was hired at The Music Lab in Yorba Linda, California as a piano instructor and teaching lots of students there since then.
I love teaching music! As a professional piano/keyboard player, I have so many things I want to share with students. My hope is that students will realize how wonderful of a gift it is to be able to play and create music.
These are the performance videos from my YouTube Channel "Aki's Piano Studio". Please check it out!
